Good and friendly service with a smile

Santander

2 Central Pavement, Chesterfield S40 1PS, UK – 0845 765 4321

I think this one has closed now, but there is another next door (yeah right next door) and another around the corner about 100 yards away (eh?!). Prefer the remote branches, ones in the major towns are a bit impersonal and unfriendly.

Great helpful, knowledgable and friendly staff - just what you want from a bank.

Local Chambers of Commerce for S41 0LP. These can be an extraordinarily effective way of getting into the business community and / or getting things done. Equally they can be entirely useless depending on the chair. If they have networking events associated with them definitely go, and keep going, if you have a business that need local support. What you put in is exactly what you get out. Below is the national site. Watch this slot - it might improve!
Chesterfield Borough Council

Town Hall, Rose Hill, Chesterfield S40 1LP, UK – 01246 345345

HQ of Chesterfield Borough Council and seat of local government for the borough of Chesterfield. The town hall is the main office for Chesterfield Borough Council, a number of voluntary sector organisations, and from 2018 (the building is currently undergoing internal renovations) the home of the Register Office for births, deaths, and marriages. The building is of historical significance - built in 1935, it's a replica of Stormont, Northern Ireland's parliament building, a scaled down size. It isn't as large as Stormont, but has a near identical frontage. It has a number of meeting rooms that can be hired by external organisations. The meeting rooms are walnut panelled, and the decoration of the town hall has an Egyptian theme, with the ceilings decorated with lotus flowers. The furniture of the meeting rooms was specifically designed for the town hall. Disabled access is via a ramp down to the basement for the voluntary sector organisations based there, and a ramped entrance to the rest of the building, both at the east end entrance (the end closest to the town centre). At the top of a hill, on Rose Hill, the town hall overlooks Shentall Gardens and has a great view. There are four pay and display car parks close to the town hall, two directly behind the town hall, with disabled parking close to the rear of the building. There is limited on-street parking at the front of the town hall.

Excellent company to work for, really look after you and proud to be an employee

Clarence Road Dental Care

38 Clarence Rd, Chesterfield S40 1LQ, UK – 01246 232784

I have been to Clarence Rd Dental care for 30 years now and they have always been very professional and kind. They send regular reminders to make appointments and will text you if that's your preferred choice. Over the years I have seen several different dentists all of which have been excellent. I would recommend the dental practice.

The best totaly know what they are doing

Cavendish Dental Care

57 W Bars, Chesterfield S40 1BA, UK – 01246 274852

You are made to feel at ease as soon as you enter the reception room. The dentists are kind and caring and will listen to whatever concerns that you may have, no matter how small. Extremely professional, spotlessly clean. Based on my own experience, I highly recommend them. Frank Casey

Ashgate Medical Practice

Ashgate Rd, Derbyshire, Chesterfield S40 4AA, UK – 01246 232946

Brilliant doctors surgery and they do not warrant the negative comments. Phone line emergency appointments work great, ring back service is excellent. Prescriptions passed to chemist too so can collect even when surgery is closed. Great of doctors. Resilient staff that put up with a lot of unnecessary abuse. Always served me well supporting my disability, so much so that I have joined the Paruebts Participation Group and I am proud to be a member. Keep up the good work!!

Due to illness over the last year I have had to attend Ashgate Medical Practice on several occasions. This has involved communication with receptionists, nurses and doctors. On every occasion I have found all to be polite, professional and courteous. I have been treated as an individual with consideration for me as a person and not just a condition. I have never felt rushed and always felt listened to. Many thanks for your care.

Avenue House Surgery

109 Saltergate, Chesterfield S40 1LE, UK – 01246 244040

Up to date and forward thinking at this surgery. If you want to see a specific doctor you may have to wait several days but appointments are quick if you're not fussy.

Wonderful doctors, always get an appointment within a week and I'm never kept waiting more than 10 minutes

Chesterfield Royal NHS Foundation Trust

Chesterfield Rd, Calow, Chesterfield S44 5BL, UK – 01246 277271

My daughter had her first baby at this hospital by c-section after nearly 48 hours in labour. Words cannot describe the excellent care and kindness she received from the moment she walked into the Birth Centre. The midwives were absolutely wonderful as were the doctors, anaesthetists, and the student nurses. I was with my daughter throughout and we both wish to thank everyone at the Birth Centre and Trinity Ward. The staff deserve much more than their long overdue pay increases and everyone in the UK should be grateful for our wonderful Health Service.

In 2013 I was rushed in here after a leg infection from a previous operation resurfaced after five years . The doctors here warned me that they might amputate. I declined to sign the consent form and asked to be transferred to the Northern General in Sheffield where they sorted me without cutting off my leg. The quality of treatment always depends on how good the doctor is. ALWAYS question and seek a second opinion.

Chesterfield Parish Church

Church Way, Chesterfield S40 1XJ, UK – 01246 206506

An icon landmark associated with the town. It is well worth going inside where the church is rich in history and you will find friendly folks to talk to. If you can, book a trip up the spire, they only do trips at certain times of the year but it is very well worth doing

I've often past the town of Chesterfield and seen the twisted spire of the church but this was the first time I visited it! It has a very welcome feel to it and includes a gift shop! I was delighted that there was a group of school children being shown round on the day we visited! It is almost cathedral like inside as it is so big. I liked the huge Parish chest and the very old font which is Saxon. The guide is in an easy to read form, well suited for children. So now I know why the spire twisted but I'm not going to tell you because I want you to go in and find out for yourself! 😊

Cash 4 Clothes Chesterfield

Pottery Lane West, Chesterfield Small Business Centre, Chesterfield S41 9BN, UK – 0845 900 4044

Great service and friendly lady. I brought lots of bags of clothes and I was seen to quickly and efficiently. Would recommend.

Helpful when I visited ,was really busy and the girl had no money but I was dealt with efficiently.just a word though.....it's not a a charity and they pay for your items so they need to be checked.was a lady not happy because her clothes were refused, but I wouldn't have let my pets use them as bedding.will return when I've built another bag up

Give and get free stuff. Here you will find lots of items that people are willing to give away, for FREE! This is instead of taking them to a local landfill site. The aim of this site is to reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill (20.9 million tonnes of it last year in the UK) and recycling is great news for the environment.
We all know that we need to recycle more - and this is a great way of doing it.

Siam Palace Thai Restaurant

9 Lordsmill St, Chesterfield S41 7RW, UK – 01246 271998

Amazing place - both food and decor. We were blown away by the intricate design of each of the eating areas. Quite a big place, it can cater for lots of big parties. The themes change slightly in each area and was very interesting. The food was fantastic though a little on the spicy side, with plenty of aromatic herbs coming through. Perfectly seasoned and portioned. Service was to a very high standard. Decent price for the high quality food. Highly recommended.

The setting/ decorations look fantastic. A really nice atmosphere. Friendly staff and good food. Will definitely be going back again....

Nursery and Preschools

Cheeky Monkeys Day Nursery

Windermere Rd, Chesterfield S41 8DU, UK – 01246 238826

My girls made lovely friends. Thank you for making their first experiences excellent and ones. Kerry Sanders 😍

Promises Day Nursery

Wardgate Way, Chesterfield S40 4SL, UK – 01246 221184

All 3 of my kids have been to promises day nursery. My 2 boys are still there. Wouldn't have sent them to any other. It's a clean, very friendly and welcoming place for any child, They see the children as children not as numbers or race. The kids could be blue with purple poker dots they don't care. My eldest son didnt talk much when he started there and now I can't get him to shut up. The kids always come home happy and normally covered in paint, soil, or what ever they been doing, showing me they had loads of fun. I recommend this nursery to everyone.

My daughter has attended Promises Day Nursey since being 8 months old and is now leaving for school. I highly recommend this nursery to anyone as they put the children first, provide quality care and activities and are extremely professional. I was very worried to leave my daughter in the care of others but the staff made this much easier, they understand the anxiety of the parents and the needs of the children when starting out. The care and development of the children is consistent and to a high standard throughout their time there. I couldn't have chosen a better nursery and I know my daughter will miss them very much.
